The Google Dewey Update?
April 8th, 2008 by adminI don’t have a full handle on the Dewey update, there has been a lot of chatter on the different SEO blogs, and websites. Do any of our visitors have any information? Only one of our sites was affected, but nothing major on it. It was an older site of ours that has been around for years. Here is what we know so far, older sites were effected, Google is no longer indexing newer sites as fast, especially since April 2nd. Here are some comments from the SeoRoundtable.com site:
1) Old sites that have done nothing wrong suddenly dropped out of Google’s index around the end of February, early March
2) Cache data has been inaccurate and appallingly unrefreshed even though the index reports that new content and links are working.
3) New sites take excruciatingly long time frames to be indexed whereas up until late February/early March it was a fairly quick and painless process

Update on the Dewey Update, I think the Dewey update has placed a higher emphasis on history of links, and more links. It may have Reduced emphasis from High PR links. I think this is evidenced with greater number of new sites popping up.
Yet, I have noticed that the keywords dominated by plethora or focused Anchor text links is still maintaining top ranks. Any one else?
