Well, it may look like I haven’t updated for a while but to be honest, I have just shifted several posts to my blogspot: The Copywriter . I decided I’d like to keep this as my work journal - a kind of moving CV. The Copywriter is where I’ll be sharing some industry tips and tricks. So go there if you’re looking to learn how to write.
What have I been up to? Well, there’s been progress on the RCR Tomlinson annual report, and I’m currently working on a website for APZ Construction.
I’ve also written several SuperLiving stories: one on starting your dream business, one on becoming an internet millionaire, and one (forthcoming) on making your business website perform. The latter was intriguing. I discovered some stuff about SEO and Google I didn’t know before. Aidan Montague’s e-book “How to use the internet as a powerful sales weapon” (gotta love that title) has more details.
Client meeting at Monadelphous on Thursday. Will post about it next week.

June already? No way.
I was able to have a meeting with my new guru this week - Aidan Montague. I’m on a steep learning curve in internet marketing and it’s amazing to sit and listen to Aidan. He’s SO experienced in this stuff - can cut through the crap in a split second.
Anyway, the meeting went well and the new GoPC campaign design is underway. The current campaign is a little slow for our liking, so we’re working up something better.
I also wrote a story for this week’s SuperLiving that featured Chantal Vanderhaegan, the founder of Franc Essentials. Chantal lives nearby and I’ve been using her products for a year now. They’re really lovely. She’s got a special offer for SuperLiving readers in the lounge area as of this week.
This week I’ll be chasing some clients to get started on their projects (especially an annual report which I don’t want to leave to the last minute!)

If I were an animal I’d be an octopus - eight arms and all of them doing something different.
Aside for the subediting and copywriting for my usual suspects this week, I am soon to embark on several large-ish projects for new clients, including an annual report and a corporate profile for a heavy equipment company.
I’ve enjoyed working on a powerpoint presentation for SAS Global in the last couple of weeks, and putting together email autoresponders for a ready-to-launch GoPC campaign.
This week I’ll be chasing a couple of project sign-offs prior to starting up the new jobs!

May is nearly here! This will be a super busy month for me as I’m starting a number of new projects as well as working on jobs my existing clients send through on an as-needs basis.
The last fortnight has seen me putting together a ’suite’ of marketing materials for a next-gen technology company I’m working closely with. I’ve also drawn up a new product brochure for a financial planning client and await their feedback on this initial draft.
On a non-profit basis I have been rustling up some media releases and chasing publicity for fundraiser at my daughters’ school. I’ve also been writing a paper for presentation at a conference this Thursday (yes, I finally got to this one!)
I can’t argue with the level of variety right now!

This week I’ll be turning my hand to some informational emails and finishing some other ongoing work.
It’s the school holidays so the theory is that I’m taking time off to look after my children, but the reality is that I’ll still be working - just in more compressed spaces of time!
I have some new projects lined up for beyond the school break, but until then I’ll be busy enough with my four or five current ongoing projects. Look out for the story on Viagraborgs in this week’s SuperLiving!

What a weekend! So busy I didn’t even get a chance to blog here.
I’m flat out with writing website content at the moment - mainly for GOPC but also a lovely little curtain and blinds place in Applecross. I also have some Penguin Club site updates scheduled for this week, and some editing work for SAS Global.
I still haven’t managed to work on that academic paper. I suppose my non-paid work gets put on the back burner in favour of my delightful paying clients!
This is a busy period but you know me - that’s how I like it. I’m still happy to look at your marketing projects and writing projects to see if we’re a good fit for working together.
Signing off until my next post!

I believe I’m shifting gear this week. Two new projects came in during the last few days. One is a series of mini-sites for GOPC, which seems set to be the next big thing after Facebook and Google Apps. This will be fun and challenging work as it involves adapting much of the same information for various markets, include small business and students.
The other is a neat little web content job for a soft furnishings business in Applecross.
I’m getting into the swing of building the SuperLiving site and newsletter now, but have very little time for writing articles nowadays, so it’s been purely subediting and web publishing there.
Hopefully there will be time to work on that conference presentation soon, as well!

Happy Easter!
A working Easter for me. This week I’ll be finishing up two jobs for clients - they’re drafted now, so I’ll be working with clients on feedback and revisions. These jobs are the corporate profile for the wealth management company and the website content for the commercial fishing gear site.
When these two jobs are done I’ll be turning my hand to writing a presentation paper for the WACOSS conference at the beginning of May, where I’ll be presenting some of my findings from a research project I worked on last year with colleagues at Edith Cowan University. It will be nice to get my head into an academic space again, actually!
Enjoy the public holidays!

More work on the finance company’s corporate profile this week! I’ll also be catching up with my motivational speaker friend to work with her on some directions for her business.
I’ve taken on a voluntary position as Fundraising Coordinator for my girls’ school, so I’m busily drawing up a fundraising plan for the year. We launched straight into our first fundraiser today with a hot cross buns drive. This is a small fundraiser, but I’m planning some big ones later this year, including an auction dinner and a school label wine drive.
My new agent is sending my YA novel manuscript off to a publisher shortly. It’s very exciting and I just wish I had the time to get into finishing Book 2!

I seemed to have a week full of meetings last week, and now I’m heading into another one! But in between the meetings I’ll be writing a corporate profile for a wealth management company, including case studies and personnel profiles. I’ll also be consulting with a business owner to plan the web pages for a deep sea fishing tackle outfit based out of Karratha.
I’m in training at the moment as well, learning how to use the CMS to upload SuperLiving stories and build the weekly newsletter. It’s a fascinating system and I’m definitely interested in helping it evolve at some point. In fact, I think my experience in talking to clients about their projects, and my basic website building background make me well suited to sharepoint design (high end). I’d like to go in that direction at some point.
I look forward to more meetings next week, as well! There will be some business strategies discussion with a previous colleague who’s branching out as a motivational speaker. I find her inspiring, so our meeting should be fantastic.
