Green marketing

Filed under: Green Business — Bc @ 12:16 am

Green is a wonderful marketing word

Have you ever noticed that consumer behavior favors Green products?  As it should, and you should use it in your marketing, but only if it is appropriate.  Otherwise the green backlash can be very costly.  We are lucky to have launched a sister site last year called GreenIsBetter.org, the site sells energy saving heaters that are better for the environment.  We actually get more traffic on heater related keywords than anyother subject at the moment.  So this blog is really powered by the GreenIsBetter.org heaters and so we decided to do some shameless self promotion today.  We are too busy working on our day jobs so here is the FAQ from the heaters site.  Reading this will probably save you money on your heating bills this winter.

Q. What is a ComfortZone™ Heating System?

A. The ComfortZone™ quartz infrared heater is a revolutionary portable furnace that safely and efficiently heats the objects in a room using infrared waves as opposed to less efficient systems that use radiant or solar radiation.

Q. How does the initial cost and savings compare to other heaters?

A. ComfortZone™ quartz infrared heaters utilize new, more efficient technology for generating large amounts of infrared heat. Built with yesterday’s quality using tomorrow’s
infrared and solid state electronic technology. ComfortZone heaters incorporate great styling, with micro-electronic genius. To invest in similar technology that would heat a comparable area could easily cost twice the initial investment without delivering the exclusive features and safe healthy benefits in this 3rd generation portable furnace. The energy savings each month will usually pay for the cost of the heater in less than a few months.

Q. How does the ComfortZone™ Portable Heater Work?

A. The Comfort zone combines new advanced engineering with the latest in infrared commercial quartz tubes. Both technoloigies were developed by Well Electronics for the Comfort Zone heaters. The new heat exchanger incorporates a copper-ionization panel for efficient ionization of the water molecules in the air. These water molecules act as a carrier for the infrared heat that is expelled into the room. Ionized water molecules distribute the heat more evenly in the room than do the air molecules which is why you eliminate most cold air pockets in a room by using moist infrared heat. It is a warmer softer heat that penetrates the body more effectively than radiant heat. three solar copper furnaces inside the unit absorb the heat from these tubes much like a sponge absorbs water. The patent pending process also utilizes stainless steel diffusion coils and special infrared tubes with ceramic and stainless steel tips. In independent tests the combination of stainless steel diffusion coils interacting with the copper ionization panels in the new heat exchanger produced a 14% increase in heat output / efficiency. The Comfortzone heaters exhales what is coined as “soft” environmentally friendly heat that employs the humidity in the room as a vehicle to warm up large spaces quickly and efficiently. Conventional heat sources that dry the air cause occupants to lose energy and force them to breathe dry
uncomfortable air.

Q. Where is the ComfortZone™ Portable Zone Heaters most often used?

A. Cold uncomfortable areas in your home, finished basements, that cold back bedroom, that office down the hall, mobile homes, etc. It can also be used as an energy saving source of comfortable heat when employed as a substitute for other heat sources in the home. It’s a better cheaper way to heat your home.

Q. What makes the ComfortZone™ Heater “Healthier” than other heaters?

A. For one… the ComfortZone™ does not use up oxygen or dry out the air, nor does it produce positive ions like other blower type heaters. And the ComfortZone™ does not destroy healthy negative ions… it actually produces them. Since the early 1950s scientists have suspected that ions play an important role in how the body functions and, consequently, in how we feel. Research has shown that an abundance of negative ions in the air we breathe is highly beneficial. Conversely, scientists have found that if the air is charged with too few negative ions and too many positives, we become anxious, fatigued and tense. Positive ion poisoning has, in fact, been linked to heart attacks, aggravated asthma, migraine headaches, insomnia, rheumatism, arthritis, hay fever, and most allergies.
Two . . . the internal temperatures inside the furnace destroy harmful biological pathogens including bacteria, virus, mold and mildew without creating a combustion cycle like other fossil-fueled space heaters and radiant/solar coil type electrical heaters. These types of heaters use up oxygen and they remove humidity from the air.

Q. What makes the ComfortZone™ Heating System different?

A. There are three major types of heat.
The first, is radiant heat. Radiant heat can be generated utilizing combustion or the burning of a fossil fuel, i.e. natural gas, wood, oil, etc. It can also be generated using electrical current to heat a coil, as in a base-board heater, or to heat different liquids such as oil in a portable radiator. Radiant heat is a very long wave form that can actually be seen radiating off the earths surface in a mirage or off the top of a wall radiator. It is a very long wave pattern.
The second, is solar radiation. Solar radiation is a very short wave pattern that includes all hose wavelengths in the light spectrum that are both harmful and beneficial. Solar radiation is responsible for you’re the burn you get by sitting to close to a fire or disc heater or by sitting out in the sun too long. Ultraviolet radiation falls into this solar radiation spectrum. Solar radiation has a very short wve pattern that cannot be detected by the human eye. Ultraviolet Radiation, for example, is a type of solar radiation and the wave pattern varies from approximately 180 nanometers to 270 nanometers.
A third form of radiation is Infrared radiation. It is the safest and most effective type of radiation to use for warming up the objects in a room including the human body. The ComfortZone™ Heating System uses safe infrared radiation to efficiently convert electrical power into therapeutic infrared heat. Infrared heat is by far the most economical type of heat for zone or area heating. Infrared waves vary from 5 to 14 microns which is is much much longer than solar radiation but much much shorter than radiant heat waves. Infrared radiation is the perfect wave form for the most efficient heating systems. Infrared heat is also the most therapeutic type of heat which is why it is used universally for all medical applications requiring heat applications as well as the preferred heat type in most saunas. Infrared Saunas produce the same infrared wave that the ComfortZone heaters produce.

Q. How does the comfort of ComfortZone™ furnace compare to other systems?

A. The ComfortZone™ furnace is a state of the art system that provides the most comfortable form of heat. Unlike traditional systems, which may leave a differential of up to 18 degrees from floor to ceiling, the ComfortZone™ infrared furnace produces infrared heat that does not concentrate near the ceiling. Heat is evenly distributed from floor to ceiling throughout the room. The even heating and higher humidity permit lower heat settings with more comfort, less condensation on windows and less static electricity.
In actual studies, photos using infrared lighting demonstrated that the heat was almost perfectly even from floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall. The ComfortZone™ Quartz Infrared heaters efficiency is based on the distribution of energized air, not on just fan movement. This heat is coined as “soft heat” due to how comfortable it is.

Q. Economically, how does the ComfortZone™ furnace compare to other systems?

A. The ComfortZone™ furnace is the most economical way to heat. The ComfortZone™ furnace uses an average of 35% less energy than conventional electric furnace/baseboard systems. Even more impressive results were found during comparisons with fuel based heating systems. Individual results, of course, depend on insulation values, local climate, and other conditions.

Q. How much area does a ComfortZone™ Heating System heat and at what cost?

A. The ComfortZone™ Heating System unit, is an excellent source of primary heat for up to 1000 square feet and a superb source of secondary heat for over 1200 square feet. Price per unit varies from $397.00 to $449 US Dollars. Plus… FREE SHIPPING.

Q. Why does the ComfortZone™ quartz infrared furnace cost more than a space heater?

A. It is a furnace in every respect. It has a miniature heat exchanger, miniature infrared heating coils or tubes, a solid-state electronic control system, high and low limit switches to regulate temperature and air flow, a stylish cabinet, a sensitive solid-state thermostat with high voltage relays for turning the infrared tubes on and off and a dual DC fan system to eliminate harmful electromagnetic radiation that is produced by AC fans. It is a revolutionary “Green technology” product in every respect that produces high-quality infrared heat at a fraction of the price of conventional portable heaters. A space heater only has the capacity to heat a small space because the heat stays where it was generated. The ComfortZone™ furnace, like a central heating system, will heat an entire area evenly and efficiently because the heat spreads rapidly through the entire room. Leave the door aopen and the heat will spread into the adjoining room as well. That’s whats so neat about infrared heat. Furthermore, the ComfortZone™ furnace is safe. It will not start a fire or burn you if you get to close to it. (Personal note: I like to sit in front of my unit when I come in form the cold because it warms me up fast – Bruce Searle). Because of the reduced energy consumption, and the unit’s high level of safety and comfort, ComfortZone™ users agree that it is the best value available.

Q. Is the ComfortZone™ Heating System safe?

A. The ComfortZone™ Heating System has no flame or fumes. Its safe, clean infrared heating elements provide the energy. Extensive TUV-US testing has verified the safety of the ComfortZone™furnace.

Q. How long has the ComfortZone™ furnace been around?

A. The ComfortZone™ furnace is new for 2008. It was developed by Well Electronics, an ISO 9000 manufacturer who is an oem supplier to many fortune 500 companies. Well Electronics produced over 120,000 for the US market last year. Well Electronics wanted to introduce their own innovative technology into the US market this year. Tens of thousands of Well quartz infrared heaters are marketed and sold worldwide each year.

Q. Why doesn’t the heat from the ComfortZone™ Heating System rise like conventional heating systems?

A. Because the infrared wave is shorter than radiant heat waves. Now, combine this short wave with an ionizing heat exchanger and what you have is an infrared wave that spreads more quickly and penetrates more thoroughly giving you a more even heat distribution from floor to ceiling. The ComfortZone™ heaters heat an area evenly, keeping heat down where you and your family live.

Q. What kind of warranty does it have?

A. The ComfortZone™ Heaters have an extended 3 year factory warranty which includes the heating elements. The unit has no moving parts except the fan. The heater has rouble free solid-state controls and diagnostic analysis of any problem can be analized over the telephone with our technical support team through customer service.

Q. How much power does the ComfortZone™ furnace draw?

A. The ComfortZone™ Furnace uses 1500 watts. That is less than some coffee makers!

Q. How do I order the ComfortZone™ Heaters?

A. Your in the right place. Go to http://GreenIsBetter.org or email energysavingheaters@gmail.com

For those of you that read our other blogs, you know that we started this site to help businesses create a blog to help them SEO their websites.  We than created a http://community.mytypes.com to help them promote their blogs.  We never did make money except through a few SEO contracts and selling energy saving infrared heaters from GreenisBetter.org.  We think these heaters will not only save you money, but the heaters are good for the environment.  We are lucky that they are #1 on Google for “Green Heaters“.

Last may we wanted to publish our marketing book “Marketing is a Contact sport”, which is not doing as well as we like.  But, we have not started to promote it yet, until the next revision comes out.  We are also thinking a new title for it, the one above “How to Write blogs & Influence People: Blogging for SEO, Search Marketing & Social Networking”.  What do you think of that as a possible title?

blog baby blog.. and Top 10 Web Sites

I rankings for the keyword “SEO” have fallen from #11-#14 to #33 this week.  Same with our other Major Keywords “Free Blog” from #8 to #11, “Create a blog” from #6 to #11.  How can this be, I thought we wrote a marketing book on SEO and power of blogs?  It bothers me a lot, because we claim to be SEO Experts, but has our traffic fallen dramatically or at all?

The answer to that question is no, but I am sure for those keywords it has dropped.  One of MyTypes SEO and Free blog clients RentExpert.com went back to #4 for “VRBO” so that is good news.  But, one of the other clients “Website Design St. Louis” provider Artworksdesign.com dropped to #14 from #6 for the keywords “web site design St. Louis“.  What bothers me most is not our rankings, well for “Free Blog” and “Create a blog” do bother me, and actually so does “Wordpress SEO“.  But other keywords, i can deal with.  So back to what can we do about it.  Blog, silly blog.  It’s not Drill baby drill, it’s blog baby blog.  If you don’t write on your content, your traffic will drop, so will your SEO rankings.  Do check out this and all of our tips in our Marketing book, and keep up on my new Internet Marketing 2.0 free blog on Wordpress.com.

We have been looking at “Web Design” stuff lately and wanted to share this article from Imediaconnection:  http://www.imediaconnection.com/content/20565.asp

Here is a quick summary, but go to the link above to read the full thing and check out the pictures of these great websites too:

Internet Advertising and Blogs

So we have not covered the traditional Internet Advertising much in our Marketing book or in this SEO blog.  Inherently we just focused on SEO, and little on SEM (which is Search Engine Marketing–which includes Pay Per Click internet Advertising), so we do cover a little of Internet Advertising.  But there is this huge part called Display Advertising, and it’s been making way to small businesses.  So I will start to write a little bit more about Display Advertising in our blogs and will cover a chapter of it in our Internet Marketing book.   But basically display advertising is anything other than on search page results.  So all of the sponsors of content buttons and banner ads, those are your traditional display ads.

As you know we talk a lot about blogs, free blogs and create a blog tools, because we created a blogging community at MyTypes.com main page.  Attached is an an Excerpt of an article form Imediaconnection.com, Here is the text.  The link is below it, but to be frank I am shocked by how small advertising is for blogs, and blogging site.  It will get bigger, but for now blogs are not really considered full fledged journalists, and the new media just doesn’t get the dollars the traditional media does.  See article excerpt below and follow link:  Navigate the blogsophere’s biggest Ad Networks.

“Millions of consumers read blogs, including your target audience. Make the most of this growing marketing opportunity with the right niche ad network.

If there’s one buzzword that has spread like wildfire through the entire media business in the last five years, it is blogs.

Universal McCann’s global “Power to the People” Social Media Tracker study says that “blogs are a mainstream media worldwide and as a collective rival any traditional media,” with 73 percent of respondents saying they have read a blog.

The majority of the 184 million blogs worldwide are of the personal nature, according to Universal McCann’s study, and a recent eMarketer report states that there are 25 million bloggers in the U.S. alone.

The eMarketer study says that 67 percent of the U.S. online population — 104 million people — reads blogs, showing that blogging has become a truly mass media. The number of blog readers will continue to grow to 145 million by 2012.

The growth in readership reflects the consumer’s desire to participate with information, not just consume it. Younger consumers especially seek edgier and more personal sources of content than what is offered by the formal approach of mass media.

While blog readership has exploded, advertising investment represented only 1.34 percent of online spending in 2007, and eMarketer estimates it will grow to 1.46 percent by 2012.  According to that estimate, U.S. blog advertising will increase from $283 million in 2007 to $746 million in 2012.

Today, corporate marketers are asking “do we need a corporate blog?” and “how do we participate in the conversation?” Look at any major media brand’s website, and you will almost always find featured blogs as a way to update the brand’s online persona.

As marketers become increasingly interested in participating in the conversation of the blogosphere and pro actively focusing their customer service efforts on what is being said about the brand online, a number of blog advertising networks have emerged. These networks offer marketers scale and control in advertising on blogs and social media sites, and have succeeded by quickly growing revenues in recent years.

The following is an overview of major blog networks including BlogAds, Gawker Media, Technorati, Federated Media, Google, Forbes’ Business Blog Network and Izea, owner of two blog advertising services: SocialSpark and Pay Per Post.”

Thanks for all of your support, and don’t be afraid to buy our Marketing book, and if you want us to high light your content, we will be more than willing to help you.  We also want to support some of our SEO clients such as for VRBO: RentExpert.com, Web Design St. Louis: ArtWorksDesign.com, marketing book: by MyTypes.com, and Free Blog: MyTypes.com.  We will soon be launching a how to blog software tutorials, look out for those coming out this fall.

taking search seriously - of course you already take SEO

Start taking search seriously - iMediaConnection.com

Great article on SEM (Search Engine Marketing), search advertising.  Why do we also recommend SEM when we favor SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?  Well the main reason is that without SEM and all of the market analytics provided by SEO and SEM tools, SEO would be greatly hampered.  The most important reason is that SEM, search advertising also increases the effectiveness of SEO clicks.  How can that be?  Well mainly due to the fact that your name would appear in two parts of a page, that is brand recognition.  This is a short post, but if you want more information on SEO, blogs, the power of free blog tool such as Wordpress and Blogger, and how to blog, buy our marketing book, you will grow your rankings so quick you will be wowed.  Enjoy!

Demystifing SEO link building, from iMediaConnection.com

The article below shows the value of SEO link building from 5 top SEO experts. No matter what you believe, it’s still a very important part of any SEO strategy and Internet Marketing. Don’t just take my word for it, read the articles, not that I haven’t written a marketing book on SEO, Search, Blogs and Internet Marketing.

5 experts demystify SEO link building - iMediaConnection.com

To hammer the value of anchor texted based links, I am going to ask you to visit the following sites, Zappos, Expedia, and salesforce.com. Now check their rankings in Google for any of the keywords in their title tags, do you see them in the top 10 search results, you should? They are some of the best SEO companies. Also check out MSNBC.com and shopping.msn.com, they also rank high for their keywords, in the top 10 and top 5.  Well, we have friends at the Green Channel at MSN so, let’s give them a link for the great work that they are doing!  Why do all of these site rank in the top 10, and are very good at SEO, rather than their competitors? My main proof is that they all use Anchor text based footer links on the bottom of their pages. If you don’t know what that is, just look at the bottom of their pages, you will quickly see what I am talking about.

Recently, I was talking to a Sr. SEO manager for one of the top 5 Internet companies in the world. His boss recommend I talk with him, to figure out how I can help them. In the hour long conversation, I was lucky to get a word in. He thought, I was looking for a job, which I wasn’t against. I mean, who wouldn’t they are a top 5 Internet Company with billions in revenues. But, by the end of the 1 hour, I wouldn’t work for him or his boss. Why? And what does this tangent have to do with Link Building? patient my dear, patient:-)

That Sr. Manager and his associates have an SEO guidelines document, and they don’t talk about Link Popularity, Google page rank or Anchor Text based links at all. Well, if they did, it might not even be more than a sentence. The worst part of it is, they have so many opportunities to help their internal departments, as most of their pages have a Google Page Rank of 9 and 8. We are talking far more than 30 pages with at least a PR of 8 or higher. Thousands of pages with PR of 7+, and they don’t recommend that these website designers, producers or teams do any SEO links. This guy claims to have written a marketing book, but I checked and it doesn’t even cover proper keywords. Mind you this guy, does not recommend using Adwords.google.com, so how could he even know about proper Anchor Text links.

So what’s the message in all of this? Knowing about SEO is different then being very good at SEO, and the most important thing to know is the power of Anchor text links from high PR pages. You don’t have to buy my Marketing book, but you should, it is at Amazon, and only 19.95. The strategies work, have you seen our rankings for “Free Blog” “SEO” “Create blog” “Blogging“, we are in the top 10 at google. Even for our clients RentExpert.com for VRBO. But, we are not there yet for “Travel Blog” for our website eVacations.org, we are SEOing it for the major keyword “Vacations“. Yes we are shooting for major keywords, and doing very well. Top 14 in Google for “SEO”, go ahead buy our marketing book, you will benefit from it. And, go get some organic links!

SEO & Internet Marketing book for free?

Should we offer our SEO and Internet Marketing book for free, obviously the free version would be in the eBook format? Three months ago we made the decision to not do so, why? Well, we already offer so much free stuff such our Free Blogs, free advice on how to create a blog, free SEO blog templates on this site. Even a free ebook on how to SEO  Wordpress. Would it be a better idea to offer our marketing book for free? Maybe, and that is why we are reevaluating the concept. We think this will help us to promote our brand of free blogs, SEO, Create blog, and obviously help sell more copies of the SEO and Internet marketing book. To be honest with you, the sales have been pretty dismal as we have not promoted or tried hard to sell it except for make it available on Amazon and promote it across our blogs and websites.

What makes our SEO and Internet Marketing book different than all the others. First of all, we have heard that it’s super easy to understand and makes it very easy to apply skills. It talks about blogging, and it teaches you how to write an effective blog. We would also like to make it available through our blogs, so here is the Introduction. We will try to promote the marketing book through our free blogs, and make the topics the topics of our blogs. We had done it when we wrote the drafts, but actually removed the content, when the marketing book actually got published. So here is the introduction, by the way, the book is titled “Marketing is a contact sport: make contacts through blogs, search, and social marketing”.  Click on the Link below to download the file:

Mark Warners speech at the DNC is just like Marketing

Mark Warner spoke tonight at the democratic convention, he was great and just like a successful marketing campaign, he was forgotten about just Hillary Clinton spoke. In marketing we have short attention spans, and if you don’t keep top of mind you loose. Just like a successful ad campaign, the hall mark of a successful marketing campaign is in the longevity of it’s message. What was Mark’s message? I think it was about moving forward in the next generation of this country, to take us in to the technology age. But, just like any other better marketing campaign, that does not make the big story, he got out done simply by the circumstances of the Hillary Clinton speech.

I don’t have much else to say, but to remind you that you should blog often with a consistent message of your marketing campaign. You need to hammer the message in to your clients and users heads. This site is about SEO, Search and Social marketing in the new Internet Era. In case you were wondering, hammering your message is called branding and marketing that works.

We are working on a Vacations blog and community site, let us know what you think of it. With this weather being so good, I’m off to the Oregon coast, a mini vacation you might say. This whole vacation rental industry sure helps in taking care of the basic needs, like roof over my head, nice comfy bed, clean fresh looking bathroom, enough kitchen to cook-up a seafood risotto and a comfortable couch to lay back and finish that book that’s been beside the bed at home for the last 2 months. Vacation rentals you say, vrbo, these folks are great, sometimes roughing it in a tent is not an option and the idea of just throwing some cloths in a bag, the cereal box from the cupboard and heading out is totally enlightening. Vacation Rentals, vrbo, try them sometime, don’t wait too long though!

Talking SEO with a client about his site, he commented about his competition and how his competitors site looked really home made and how was it he was number one on Google! After hanging up and looking at his competitors site I found that in their home madeness their SEO savvy had placed their keywords over 12 times in the first 200 words of their content. Do I, as a consumer, care how beautiful your site is? not really, I’m on the net to find a deal and if your business is on page one or possibly two and rarely three I will look at you. The thing I care about is the price, the availability, did it have a picture and was it easy to navigate! Is that difficult, no, but I sure as hell can make it so. Its also not difficult to SEO your site! It just needs to be part of the structure you create your site around. Now you can dress it up in beautiful clothes, and yes it should look great, be artistic and have SEO as part of your foundation. Go for it, but don’t forget SEO!

Now listen, some people say that web page content is not that important for SEO, that its all about links! I disagree! Your web page is like the body of an athlete, if SEO is to work well it must be strong and ready to perform, not only perform well but to sustain itself over the course of time. That means an SEO practice of  adding the major keywords at least 4 to 6 times in the first 200 words of the site, regularly updating the content, press releases, blogs, keywords etc. This athlete needs to stay fit and strong and power its way down the SEO road. Like any good practice, stay conscious, neglect leads to ruin!

So my question today, is seo being taken seriously? As a consultant in this field at mytypes.com, I find that companies are aware of the term, seo and even the idea that page one of Google is a great place to be. What they are not aware of is the work it takes to get them there, until they actually see themselves on page one, your  just another hole to throw diminishing resources into! Is Google not the market standard, then seo is the way to it. Seo is not only optimizing the web site, it’s optimizing the bank account at the same time! SEO and don’t forget it!

Art as Web Design

Filed under: PR Blogging — Bennett White @ 5:13 pm

Being an SEO consultant there are many times I will brows a clients site wondering what happened to the artistic bent of the designer? Has being hunched over their keyboard pushed the right brain into the back waters? This is not solely a technical process, this should be like a beautiful woman, on the surface, stunning, eye catching, something you want to explore more, a delight to behold and beneath the surface it’s as complicated as all hell. This is an art form and should be viewed as such, not some technical genius thrown on a concrete wall, although that could look great in the right hands.  Art and technology hand in hand, let me see more, please!

Watching Your Back In Business

Filed under: Uncategorized — Admin @ 6:54 pm

When in your business are you in a conversation with someone you find interesting, they have good business sense, a great product, but something a little off about them?  mulling over in your mind, could this work, what are their idiosyncrasy’s, what are they really going to be like to work with? More importantly will they take responsibility for their this is when on could say forget about it  it and go to someone like “peoplefinders.com” and do a background check! I am advocating looking in to doing a background check If your experience in business has been, “boy, I wish I knew x about that person. If  I did I would not have hired them.”  creating a doing a background check is super simple and fast if you go to the right company.
