Has it been that long??!

OK, so I haven’t posted in weeks. I’ll be honest. I’m a lousy blogger. I love the idea of it, but I find myself spent at the end of the day from drawing. And If I do take a break during the day, it’s usually to walk the dog and grab some coffee up at Cafe Fiore here on Queen Anne. Speaking of the dog. Reeses is our 14+year-old mixed breed who looks mostly like a Golden Retriever. Last Saturday she came down with her second bout of “Old dog vertigo.” Her last affliction was seven months ago. “Old dog vertigo” is a temporary loss of balance that can last weeks. For the first couple of days I had to carry her outside for her to do her business, as negotiating stairs were too difficult. The vet has me giving her a quarter tablet of Dramamine which has helped tremendously. She and I even went on a mile and a half walk this morning. Here strides are somewhat drunkenly, but she’s showing far more progress in a shorter time than her first go’round. I always fear the worst when things like this happen. She’s a wonderful dog. Event though Rover is a compilation of all the dogs that have been in my life, Reeses was around during the development of Red and Rover, and as such, inspired numerous ideas and joyfully modeled for only three Milky Bones and a good scratch behind the ears. I will miss her terribly when she’s gone. She’s been a good friend.
